Boxed Up
Slowly my work room is turning into a pile of boxes.

Pile of Boxes

At first it was a bit sad to start boxing things up, or rather, the fact that it was not by choice. But there is something nice about seeing everything bundled up together.

Spools

There is still plenty to do even in this one room, but I have found some interesting things, things that have been pushed into the corners & overlooked. Like a whole box of scraps from plastic bags, from when I crocheted them a few years back. Why would I keep something like that? It probably seemed too wasteful to throw it away, certainly it could be used for some craft?

I end up keeping a lot of things around for that reason. I've been tossing my empty thread spools in a bag forever, only to realize they are in the triple digits now. I always thought it would be neat to cut them into slices and link the circles togheter to form a wall hanging. But I lack the proper cutting tools, so for now I listed them on Etsy, hoping someone else would appreciate their crafting potential. (I'm keeping the cones, which I have fewer of, for another project I have in mind)

Empty Spools

There are a lot of things sitting around here that I've been meaning to get rid of, a lot of things that were given to me that I know I won't be able to use. I've been adding the items on Etsy as I box them up. I feel a little crazy to be doing that know, in the midst of the quick move, but they need to be boxed for shipping or moving either way.

Thimbles

Things are looking pretty good right now, I'll post the details in a minute and update as I find out more. Things are falling into place and it looks like this whole debacle will be a good thing in the end. Not on our timing, but hey, I might have a kitty in a month.

Moving Update
You called for updates & I am happy to oblige ;)

Yesterday Justin talked to the head guy at his school, who is a lawyer & apparently used to focus on housing issues. He said that he would call the lawyers involved and tell them about the situation. He also knows them and said they will understand and is sure they will grant us some more time, probably until the end of the month. So yay! It looks like we won't have to be out on Wednesday, we at least have that next weekend to do it. (We are hoping to know more about this today).

We also drove around to check out apartments and found a few really nice places.
Right now we've narrowed it down to two ~

(1) This place is huge ~ it is 2 bedrooms but 1300 square feet (most are around 1000-1100). The kitchen is a really nice size & shape, lots of counter space. You can see over the wrap-around counter into the combined living/dining room, which is also large, so it would work really well for having people over. I think the bedrooms are slightly larger than ours now, with much larger closets. And there are closests *everywhere* (coat closet, pantry, linen closet, outdoor storage, etc.)

Normally $825 a month, but if we get it today it is $700 & only $250 for the deposit. Very nice! The downside ~ the outsides do look apartment-y, which we would be fine with, but I don't want to feel like we are downgrading from the townhouse either (all of the townhouses have different exterious like tiny little houses stuck together).

(2) We got there just after the office had closed so we haven't got a chance to tour yet, but this place looks really nice on the outside, shades of brown & lots of landscaping. We grabbed the information with the floorplans and looked up the prices online. It would be about the same price as #1 (maybe cheaper), and is about 1150 sq. ft. The had all of the measurements too, so we know that the bedrooms are a little larger, much larger closests.

The living/dining room is *gigantic*, like maybe too large (Justin is excited), and there is even anoter 6 feet of sunroom/patio attached to that to make it even larger. Very nice for guests. The downside ~ the kitchen looks pretty small in the layout, possibly smaller than ours now (not good, that could ruin it for me). And we haven't toured it yet, or know if they have one on the first floor.

The plan is to quickly visit #2 after work today to see the inside. If we like it less, we'll go ahead and get #1. If we like it more, we don't have to decide today & have time to look around at a few more places Saturday & decide. Once again, we will probably know more by the end of the day. It will be nice to start getting some concrete dates & plans!
