I made it past the three insane days of ambigram-ing (9 orders due in three days), and next week will be the exact same thing. I guess it is true that summer is the season for tattoos. Justin was urging me to tell some customers it would be an extra day or two, but I was determined to get them all done, working in the evenings if I had to, to make sure I had some free time on Thursday and Friday for painting and other projects.

The free time will be cut a little short, since now I need get a head start on the orders due next week just to finish everything up in time, but for today I put the ambigrams aside and picked up a brush.



It was such a lovely day. I opened up the windows and listed to the sound of rain. I whipped up a vegetable lentil soup for lunches (click the picture for a quick recipe) and painted as I watched the charming story of 'Miss Potter'. So comforting to watch a movie about an artist as you are creating something yourself.



The pipes have been fixed, and now the parade of repair men come by to patch up the ceiling (which needs to be done over a few days). It is a relief to not have to jump up to let them in the door every few minutes, but now their arrival time is a mystery. Things like showers have to be done with careful planning.
