Letterboxing at Berry ~ photos
This weekend we went to Berry to find our first letterboxes. We found 5 boxes (out of 6, the last one I think is missing) and took a photo of each spot to add to our book. The pictures are of the landmarks that the boxes were hidden near, and a few extras for fun.
If you've never been to Berry (in Rome, Georgia), it is a beautiful place. It only has about 2,000 students, but it is the largest campus in the world, and most of that is fields, woods, and such.
This was our first box, and our favorite. We couldn't resist taking a photo of the hiding spot. This box was in a hole in the rock wall, with another rock covering the opening. Boxes are hidden so that someone in the area would not notice the box or hiding spot unless they have the clues. (To see the stamps for these boxes, you'll just have to find them!)
The real reason this was our favorite box was the location ~ underneath a bridge that used to run over a lake until it dried up. It was such a beautiful spot, and quite a large area, though you can't see it from the top of the bridge. We are all grads of Berry but had never been here before (Justin, I, and our friend Katie).
A little way down the path from the bridge we found our second box. This box was not by a specific landmark (other than the bridge), so we took pics at the tree where it was hidden. (This is a dead tree propped up by a v-shaped tree)

We also found a tiny frog living in this tree. Justin wanted to pet him.
Third box ~ by Berry's "Old Mill". I believe this is the second largest 'overshot waterwheel' (water pours over the top of the wheel).
Box #4 was by the Viking Trail, a walking & biking trail that connects the main campus to the mountain campus.
Box #5 was found near the College Chapel, one of three chapels on the campus. This is the back side of the chapel and a little garden.
