"Moving Day"
Ahhh. I can sit back and relax a little now that my painting is done.

It took much longer than I had planned on, but that is my own fault for being so darn picky! I am sad to say that the paper still got a little wrinkled, even though I taped it down this time, so I'm not sure if I'm selling the original. I decided not to use an ink outline this time, only gouache, and I'm so glad.

There are a lot of nice details in it, I'm not sure you can see it all from the tiny picture.
My favorite part is these two ~

You can find prints in my shop, as well as a few more detail shots. I decided to go with both stories, you can decide for yourself ~

"Wouldn't moving be so much easier if you had some cute woodland creatures to help? But maybe there is more to this story ~ are the animals just helping out a friend, or does the little girl have some mysterious power over them, forcing them to do her bidding? We may never know."

Speaking of my Etsy shop (and re-naming it)... a name I've been considering for a while is my actual name. I don't want to create something cutesy on the spot, because I know I'll get sick of it and it won't fit me. I can't get tired of my name, it just is. I have also thought that down the line I might want to create a site with all of my work in one place, (or at least a gallery of sorts) instead of having everything spread out, and use my name for that.

I love the fawn with the big eyes!

If you decide to sell the original maybe you could frame it so that the paper isn't wrinkled.

I know what you mean about the Etsy name. I not really happy with my shop name anymore. I also want to sell all my items in the same shop, but feel like I can't distringuish between items too much. I wish you could organize itmes into mini shops, not just sections. Maybe in the future. Also, I never thought about using my own name for my shop. I'll keep that in mind :D

It really isn't that bad, I got it straightened out nicely last time. But there are two parts that have a bit if a crease/wrinkle (the larger one is in the almost-white part, ugh). I've smoothed those as well, but I would mention it in the listing just in case. If I have a few copies of the print selling I'll post the original.

If a turtle had to move all my books, I would be in trouble.

I love the fawn's face and the body language of the raccoon says, "This chair is heavy!"

My cats have been helping me move in their own ways. Perth runs out the door into the hallway whenever I am trying to carry a box to the elevator and Moon sleeps (and sheds mightily) in any box she can fit in.

I, too, have been considering working under my name. I'll always be me. Beadoodles, while it works, may be too cutesy? I'm not sure.

But then again you come across that whole ego issue working under your own name. Does it leave you room to grow (if you plan to?) And if you become uber fabous (ah, dreams...) would It interrupt your private life?

I wouldn't mind a cutesy name if I had something I'd already liked for a while. Otherwise I know I'll end up changing my mind and getting tired of it later. But if you don't want your items to have a cutesy feel to them then it's probably not a good thing.

Grow, as in if I wanted to open a store or something? You could always come up with a name for that later on, even large businesses change names or branch off into new stores with new names. Your designs could still be associated with your name, as they were before. And if you became famous, I think people would know your name anyways, unless you are secretive, haha.

I guess it's not an issue with me, especially since I want to do more drawing and painting. I always associate those things with the artist's name. But I don't have any plans to become uber famous, nor would I want to be. I would never want to open a real-life store. But I would like to expand a little more, as far as sales ;)
